Governments worldwide have been pussy-footing around environmental issues for decades – and look where we are. Parts of Australia have run out of water and, unless we see rapid and dramatic change, the continent will be faced with an internal migration of climate refugees that has never been seen before.
From the sidelines, it appears you urgently need some lessons in leadership and I am writing to suggest actions, that, as a leader, it is best to avoid. First, the matter of your holiday. Don’t leave the the country you lead during a major disaster. It is neither sensible nor appropriate. As a national leader your job is to put your country and the people of your country first.
