Dear Donald Trump
Today, in an act of aggression, you assassinated Iran’s leading general. It was on your orders and, as usual, you used Twitter to expand on your dastardly deeds. You also indicated your willingness to commit war crimes should there be any retaliation.
Some years ago, you suggested that the then US President, Barack Obama, was going to start a war with Iran in order to win the election. This suggestion was obviously untrue but you seem to have nurtured the idea and decided to use a war with Iran – potentially triggering global conflict – to distract from the impeachment hearings due next week and improve your election chances.
You’re not the first political leader to start a war in order to distract from domestic issues but you are certainly the most dangerous.

True leaders do not flagrantly abuse their power, threaten to commit war crimes or have a complete disregard for human life. All wars come at great cost. In commencing this war of distraction – apparently initiated for your own gain – you have endangered the lives of millions.
True leaders take advice, listen and pause before tipping situations into crisis. I would urge you to find advisers outside your echo chamber for the safety of us all.
